Upon driving up to Wellspring Farm I was met with a sweet, wagging dog who led me to a vast expanse of beautiful farmland encased by mountains and filled with rows and rows of various fruits and vegetables. I came to help out with the garlic harvest, but loved it so much I stayed and helped to weed the rows of corn and potatoes. Mimi, the farm owner, was so sweet and gave me a couple of tomatoes in exchange for my labor. She's been producing certified organic vegetables since 2003 and is a participant in the farm to table movement. I took the photo to the left after my first day volunteering there.
